The Regional Tax Manager is pivotal in spearheading the tax strategies, compliance, and risk management for the APAC region, including India. This leadership role is essential for ensuring adherence to statutory obligations while optimizing tax positions and managing transfer pricing. The manager will offer insightful tax guidance to executive leadership and collaborate closely with various departments, including Project teams, Legal, Corporate Tax, and external advisors to facilitate business growth, M&A activities, and cross-border structuring projects.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy & Planning
- Formulate and implement regional tax strategies that align with global tax policies and support business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate tax optimization opportunities while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Analyze the tax implications associated with business initiatives, investments, and cross-border transactions.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all direct and indirect tax returns, including corporate income tax, GST/VAT, and withholding tax.
- Guarantee tax accounting accuracy during month-end and year-end processes following IFRS/US GAAP standards.
- Oversee regional tax audits and inquiries, collaborating with relevant authorities and external consultants as necessary.
Transfer Pricing
- Direct the transfer pricing strategy and documentation for the region.
- Ensure compliance with global transfer pricing policies, including intercompany agreements, benchmarking, and annual filings.
- Assist in transfer pricing planning for various transactions, financing, and restructuring initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to tax risk management and governance initiatives, including the development of tax control frameworks.
- Provide necessary tax provisions and deferred tax forecasts to the accounting and FP&A teams.
- Process Improvement: Establish and enhance tax policies and procedures for the APAC region, driving automation and efficiency in tax reporting and compliance processes.
