Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field. Over 7 years of experience in software development, focusing on geospatial applications. Expertise in Python programming, including proficiency with ArcPy and geospatial libraries. Strong skills in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management. Familiarity with JavaScript and contemporary web technologies for geospatial application development. In-depth knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise. Understanding of geodatabase architecture, spatial database design, and SQL queries. Experience with large-scale data processing and ETL workflows. Proficiency in the software development lifecycle and version control systems like Git. Ability to pass a background check, including no DWI convictions in the last 10 years and no crimes against children. U. S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency. Desired Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, GIS, or a related field. GISP (GIS Professional) certification. ESRI Technical Certification in ArcGIS Desktop, Enterprise, or Development. Experience with additional programming languages is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate automation tools, code, and scripts from Python to various support program platforms and technologies.
  • Create professional-grade programs that automate the management, maintenance, and standardization of extensive datasets, including Public Land Survey and Land Status data.
  • Design and develop new programs and scripts that enhance operational automation, improving data management and map production.
  • Implement automated tools for the efficient mapping of Indian land tract data, ensuring synchronization with TAAMS.
  • Develop solutions for topological alignment to integrate TAAMS legal land descriptions with the Bureau of Land Management's PLSS Geographic Coordinate Database.
  • Utilize scripting and processing solutions such as Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript to collaborate effectively with the technical team.
  • Apply knowledge of IT server and geodatabase architecture to develop robust resource management and information delivery systems.
  • Support special projects within the Division as needed to fulfill critical missions and stakeholder requirements.
