Essential Attributes:Proven experience in designing and constructing thermal management systems. Expertise in the design and assembly of electronic enclosures. Ability to develop complex models for simulating thermal management systems. Required Skills:At least 5 years of experience in a competitive engineering environment. Extensive background in mechanical system design, particularly thermal management systems and electronic enclosures. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software for mechanical and structural design, including detailed part and assembly drawings. Experience with CAE tools for thermal and mechanical FEA, including stress/strain analysis. Skilled in thermal and mechanical testing methodologies. Knowledge of material science principles and their implications for vacuum and thermal systems. Experience managing suppliers and contractors effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a collaborative team player. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Fluency in both German and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, construct, and evaluate thermal control systems for ion trap quantum devices.
  • Develop and test electronic enclosure assemblies for quantum devices.
  • Integrate mechanical designs with laser systems and electronic components.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Physicists, and Quantum Engineers.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
  • Participate in risk management and project scheduling activities.
