Essential Qualifications:Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant STEM field. Proficient in 3D CAD modeling. Experience in creating mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation. Strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and meet stringent specifications. Proficiency in rapid prototyping techniques. Understanding of Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly principles. Desirable Qualifications:Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD software. Background in UHV and cryogenic systems. Knowledge of mechanical Finite Element Analysis. Experience in tolerance analysis. Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Experience in thermal, vibration, and usability testing.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Associate Mechanical Engineer or Mid-level Mechanical Engineer (based on experience) to become part of our collaborative team that is dedicated to advancing our innovative quantum networking hardware. The chosen candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams encompassing mechanical, electronic, optical, nanofabrication, software, and physics disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manufacturing, inspection, and testing of prototypes.
  • Design assembly, testing, and alignment fixtures incorporating electronic, optical, and mechanical elements.
  • Integrate optical devices into opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Create precision components with tolerances in the micrometer range.
  • Develop user-friendly designs and interfaces for team collaboration.
  • Design systems suitable for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) and cryogenic environments.
  • Provide technical solutions and expertise to support other teams within the company.
