Summary
The Instrumentation, Control & Electrical (IC&E) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the power plant by maintaining and repairing all instruments, control systems, and electrical equipment within the facility. This position requires high-level skills in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electronic and electrical equipment and systems associated with the power plant.
Primary Responsibilities
• Conduct maintenance tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with established permits and procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, including emergency backup systems.
• Maintain comprehensive logs, files, and drawings for all designated equipment.
• Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to ensure plant reliability and assist with physical inventories.
• Compile and record data, maintaining forms, logs, and reports accurately.
• Ensure required inspections are performed at designated intervals and promptly address reported issues.
• Assist in the administrative upkeep of plant operating manuals, technical references, prints, diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
• Inspect, repair, install, and remove various types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and electrical signal systems, handling systems up to and including 18kV.
• Maintain, repair, and clean equipment including gas turbines, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), and other auxiliary equipment.
• Adjust functional components of devices using hand tools.
• Exercise Control Authority for Safety, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and prepare relevant tags and paperwork for outages and other work situations, issuing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Hot Work, Confined Space, and Safe Work Permits.
• Utilize common hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices, along with basic office machines and forklifts.
• Collaborate effectively as a team member in fulfilling other responsibilities as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
• May assist in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems up to 230kV under supervision.
• Requisition parts and supplies as necessary.
• Execute various administrative tasks, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
• Prepare and maintain records that detail tests, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Consult manuals, schematics, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize performance.
• Complete work orders and job safety analyses accurately, adhering to procedures.
• Fulfill all required training as per periodicity.
• Undertake other job-related duties as assigned.
