1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and:(a) six months of full-time experience in mainframe, mini-computer, or LAN/WAN operations or service desk/desktop support acquired within the past 1 year and 3 months; or(b) graduation from an approved technical school (approximately 675 hours) specializing in mainframe/mini-computer operations and/or technical support acquired in the last 5 years and 3 months; or (c) possess a currently valid A+ or Network+ certification; or2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 12 semester credits in computer technology; or3. Equivalent education and/or experience that meets the criteria of “1” or “2” above. Undergraduate credit may substitute experience on the basis of 30 semester credits, from an accredited college, including or supplemented by six credits in computer technology for three months of experience.

Our mission is to serve the citizens of New York City by acting as a vigilant, independent, and nonpartisan overseer of the City government, including its agencies, employees, contractors, and entities receiving City funds.

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to act as a vital bridge between our IT and business units. The ideal candidate will gather, analyze, and document technological requirements while ensuring that security measures and internal controls are effectively integrated into system enhancements and implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess and consolidate IT-related requests, aligning them with operational needs and established IT security standards.
- Develop comprehensive business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications to ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
- Monitor and evaluate system control features, identify vulnerabilities or control gaps, and recommend corrective actions to protect agency information systems.
- Assist in the formulation, execution, and testing of IT security procedures, quality assurance processes, and contingency plans.
- Provide technical support for computers, laptops, A/V systems, telecom equipment, and mobile devices, ensuring proper security compliance and documentation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical assistance through phone, email, and in-person interactions; manage ticket queues and maintain detailed documentation to support audit readiness and operational accountability.
- Maintain and reconcile IT asset inventories, tracking equipment assignments, serial numbers, product specifications, and software licenses; conduct periodic inventory reviews to safeguard agency assets.
- Prepare and process IT Purchase Requests (IPRs) and collaborate with procurement to ensure proper authorization and compliance with established procedures.
- Support mobile device lifecycle management, including secure configuration, MDM enrollment, troubleshooting, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Provide regular updates to IT leadership regarding ticket resolution, asset management controls, compliance efforts, and project progress.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
If selected, the candidate will need to undergo fingerprinting and a background investigation.
