Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Marine Engineering or similar field). Certifications: Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) – Class 1 Unlimited or equivalent qualifications. Experience: Minimum 1 year as Chief Engineer on board vessels and at least 2-3 years of experience in the marine or offshore industry. Preferred Experience: Experience with Offshore Support Vessels (OSV) or mainstream operations and prior sailing experience on offshore or commercial vessels is required. Regulatory Knowledge: Minimum 1 year of direct involvement with operations or audits concerning Aramco or ADNOC is highly desirable, especially for the Gulf region. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of marine engineering systems, dry docking procedures, class inspections, and regulatory compliance. Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with maritime digitalization trends, including remote monitoring and digital PMS systems.

About the job

  • Lead and oversee all technical operations aboard our vessels, ensuring compliance with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and relevant maritime regulations in designated operational areas.
  • Administer the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed timely, effectively, and realistically.
  • Carry out prompt verification and validation of PMS tasks to maintain optimal operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and resolve defects and job cards raised by vessels to ensure continuous operations and minimize downtime.
  • Manage and control vessel operational costs, ensuring adherence to the approved budget.
  • Keep technical documentation and vessel information current and accurate.
  • Strategically plan and implement dry dock and special survey schedules within budgetary limits while adhering to IMS standards.
  • Ensure a sufficient inventory of critical spare parts to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Establish and track KPIs for fuel oil consumption to enhance fuel efficiency.
  • Coordinate and ensure the completion of all client and statutory inspections and audits, promptly addressing any outstanding items.
  • Conduct annual physical stock counts on vessels to ensure precise inventory management.
