Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Analytics and Insight at Weedmaps leads a team focused on transforming data into clear, actionable recommendations for departments across the company. Reporting to the VP of Data, this position bridges technical data systems and business strategy. The team’s work moves beyond basic reporting, aiming to deliver proactive insights that guide decisions. This role is responsible for fostering a high-autonomy environment, maintaining accurate metrics, enabling self-service analytics at scale, and serving as trusted advisors to business leaders.
What You Will Do
- Shape and drive the analytics strategy for business intelligence, analytics, and data science, ensuring alignment with company OKRs and CTO-level priorities.
- Oversee the organization’s metrics framework, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and reliability of KPIs across all business areas.
- Lead the rollout of self-service analytics, including dashboard infrastructure, semantic layers, and AI-powered tools.
- Deliver strategic insights that improve decision quality throughout the organization.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Marketing to prioritize data projects and turn business questions into scalable analytics solutions.
- Drive improvements in team efficiency through better tooling, AI integration, and cross-functional process updates.
- Oversee analytics support for major business initiatives, such as ERP migrations and compliance projects.
- Communicate key findings and metrics insights to executive leadership and the CTO.
- Design and manage A/B tests and other experiments to validate product ideas.
- Keep current with industry trends and analytics best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Track record of leading and developing analytics, business intelligence, or data science teams of 6 or more.
- Experience with hiring, onboarding (including structured 30/60/90 day plans), performance management, and career growth for team members.
- Ability to build a culture of accountability, intellectual rigor, and ongoing improvement, with processes in place to support team performance.
