Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Experience: A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in gas turbine aerodynamics. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D aerodynamic design tools and methods. Proficiency in coding with Python, C, C++, or similar languages for engineering applications. Experience collaborating with other design disciplines (e.g., Mechanical Design, Heat Transfer) to create integrated aerodynamic technologies. Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, multitasking ability, efficient handling of complex tasks, and active participation in team discussions. Preferred QualificationsEducation: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph. D.) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Extensive experience with cooled and uncooled turbine blades and nozzles. Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in automating design processes, including CFD pre- and post-processing. Familiarity with commercial CFD software such as ANSYS CFX and/or STAR CCM+, alongside geometry-creation tools like Creo.

We are in search of a highly talented and experienced Senior Aerodynamics Engineer to become a key member of our core engineering team. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the aerodynamic integrity of our state-of-the-art gas turbine products, overseeing the process from the initial concept phase through to detailed design and field support.

Key Responsibilities

The Turbine Aerodynamics Group is accountable for the aerodynamic design and analysis of our gas turbines. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Leading both preliminary and detailed definitions of flow paths and airfoils for gas turbines.
  • Designing turbine exhaust diffusers and collectors.
  • Providing support for new engine programs, product upgrades, and uprates through thorough aerodynamic analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining proprietary analytical tools and software to enhance design efficiency and predictive capabilities.
  • Collaborating closely with Mechanical Design, Heat Transfer, and Performance Groups to ensure that designs meet all manufacturing, cost, durability, and performance requirements.
  • Actively engaging in resolving field issues related to product durability and manufacturing.
  • Effectively participating in both inter- and intra-disciplinary team settings.
