About Our Client:
Our client specializes in assisting Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with employee share ownership plans, enabling business owners to gradually transition away from their roles or exit completely. By fostering a culture where key staff can gain equity over time, they empower teams to operate with an ownership mindset rather than merely as employees. The client primarily supports professional and knowledge-based firms in sectors such as architecture, engineering, consulting, accounting, agencies, and IT services.
Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Outbound Sales Development Representative is to initiate discussions with business owners about succession planning, staff retention, and encouraging an ownership mentality among employees. You will book qualified meetings for the Account Manager based in Australia. The role utilizes Apollo for prospecting and a cloud-based VoIP dialer for making outbound calls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Apollo to create and manage prospect lists of Australian SMEs (10–200 staff), enroll prospects into multi-step outreach sequences (emails, LinkedIn tasks, calls), and monitor engagement metrics.
- Employ a cloud calling system to conduct outbound calls from an Australian number during Australian business hours, adhering to a structured call framework and asking pertinent discovery questions.
- Leave professional voicemails and document call outcomes.
- Engage with business owners, founders, managing directors, partners, and CEOs to qualify their needs related to size, role, and challenges (exit strategies, retention, ownership mindset), and schedule 20–30 minute meetings directly into the Account Manager’s calendar, confirming time, best email, and call purpose.
- Maintain accurate notes in Apollo regarding company basics (size and industry), key pain points, and relevant context for the Account Manager.
- Provide valuable feedback from frontline interactions, including common objections and questions categorized by industry or company size.
Success Metrics:
- Completing 30+ calls per day.
- Sending 30+ emails daily via Apollo.
- Performing 5–10 LinkedIn interactions per day.
- Booking 1–2+ qualified meetings weekly with strong attendance rates.
- Providing clear, useful notes for the Account Manager prior to each meeting.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in outbound sales development, business development, telesales, or call center environments (B2B preferred).
- Proficient in both spoken and written English, with clarity and confidence.
- Comfortable making cold calls to senior business leaders.
- Able to adhere to a structured sales playbook and maintain a positive, goal-oriented attitude.
