Main Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients using the practice management system.
- Communicate with insurance companies and other medical offices to secure referrals and confirm coverage.
- Scan and abstract documents as needed.
- Request and obtain patient records from hospitals and other medical offices.
- Answer and screen incoming calls, schedule appointments, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
- Support daily business operations to help the office run smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited training program is preferred.
- At least one year of clerical or billing experience in a medical office is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills are highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification in Medical Interpretation is required when serving as a bilingual or multilingual interpreter.
