Role overview
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Launch Manager in Anniston, Alabama, oversees the process of bringing new products from concept to market launch. This role coordinates with multiple teams, manages project schedules, and ensures each launch moves efficiently from the design phase to introduction.
Key responsibilities
- Product Development Process: Co-manage the PDP phase with New Product Development, overseeing deliverables, gate reviews, and readiness documentation. Ensure all departments follow established procedures and set manufacturing readiness levels.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Tooling, and Sourcing to implement launch plans and confirm manufacturing readiness. Assign and track action items through completion.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies, focusing on equipment, diagnostics, training, and plant readiness.
- Quality and compliance: Lead execution of quality plans. Ensure documentation is audit-ready, and that procedures and inspection plans are in place.
- New Design Integration: Participate in NDI meetings to resolve challenges, expedite long lead-time items, and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
- Manufacturability feedback: Provide input on designs, BOM structures, sub-assemblies, and manufacturing capabilities for both U. S. and Canadian operations.
- Customer care and documentation: Support sales by preparing detailed, customer-facing launch information.
- Cut-in and rollout coordination: Set cut-in timeframes and collaborate with Sales and Marketing to prepare for market introductions, coordinating rollouts across multiple plants.
- Project transition leadership: Guide projects from planning through execution and closure. Complete closure activities, summarize KPIs, and resolve outstanding risks.
- Early builds and systems support: Identify new processes or systems needed for early builds and work with teams to ensure successful implementation.
