Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Proven experience in NPI purchasing and planning. Strong understanding of SAP or ERP systems along with knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing, multi-layer BOMs, and testing processes. Comprehensive knowledge of MRP methodologies and all aspects of demand and supply management. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in creating spreadsheets, charts, graphs, formulas, and V-lookups. Skilled in proactively identifying potential supply issues while considering capacity constraints and shortages, and effectively communicating analyses and recommendations. Willingness to adapt work hours to accommodate customers and suppliers in various time zones.

The Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer & Planner plays a crucial role in managing all aspects of materials for NPI programs. This position encompasses the procurement of materials, reviewing delivery forecasts, ensuring material availability, and maintaining effective communication with the management team. As a subject matter expert in NPI purchasing and planning, you will be accountable for timely kit completion and will significantly contribute to capacity and monthly revenue planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan all NPI work orders based on demand and customer orders.
  • Analyze and convey clear build status for NPI orders to the program manager and stakeholders, verifying the availability of piece parts and subassemblies.
  • Engage in daily and weekly production meetings, presenting material availability updates.
  • Coordinate materials and build plans for new product introductions from R&D to volume manufacturing.
  • Review backlogs to identify material shortages and capacity requirements, providing commitment feedback to customers.
  • Communicate material requirements and project timelines to internal and external suppliers, aiming to mitigate material shortages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expedite NPI material processes and adhere to program timelines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve delays to achieve target shipping dates.
  • Oversee scheduling functions related to managing work orders and coordinating product and material movement through manufacturing to ensure timely completion and shipment.
  • Establish routings in SAP, prepare and print production orders and pick lists.
  • Assist in planning purchase order placements for volume and strategic parts using SAP.
  • Generate regular status reports for assigned programs and any additional management reports as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
