Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary contact for tooling-related manufacturing issues. Collaborate with production teams to address safety, quality, and cost challenges associated with tooling. Develop and implement innovative cost-saving strategies for tooling and manufacturing expenses. Oversee tooling expenditures in relation to variable piece cost budgets on a weekly basis. Conduct and document tool trials, ensuring adherence to customer testing protocols. Update and refine tool drawings and documentation as necessary. Create systems for reconditioning and reusing tooling where financially viable. Participate in regular operations and team problem-solving meetings. Assist in resolving machining and tooling challenges related to costs and production rates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet overall plant performance metrics. Recommend improved machining processes and cutting parameters. Introduce new technologies and enhanced tooling designs. Provide annual plans for cost-per-piece reduction. Coordinate with the preset team for effective tool setup techniques. Utilize PFEP and Top Spend Data to initiate savings projects. Complete necessary documentation for cost savings and tooling tests. Report and document non-conformances and continuous improvements. Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping practices. Make informed decisions within established guidelines. Report incidents and near misses to management and assist in investigations. Perform other duties as assigned.
