We are currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to become part of our team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will act as the representative of Syska Hennessy Group in all communications with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders. You will oversee, coordinate, and delegate various projects to your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Engineer of Record for designated projects while leading coordination meetings.
  • Guide and supervise team members in their tasks and contribute to budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Conduct thorough performance evaluations for team members.
  • Assist the Technical Manager and Chief Engineer with technical training and mentoring of staff.
  • Coordinate and allocate various projects for the engineering team, including system design and project engineering.
  • Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Handle construction administration tasks such as field reports, RFIs, bulletins, and addenda processing.
  • Work with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices and oversee project accounts receivable.
  • Ensure effective communication among staff, clients, contractors, and owners.
  • Engage in firmwide Expert Teams committee activities.
  • Contribute to budgeting, scheduling, and staff management efforts.
  • Prepare proposals and project documentation.
