About the Role
As the Technical Lead, Computer Vision Engineer at Boon, you will spearhead the technical vision for our AI and computer vision initiatives. Joining a talented team of AI engineers, you will tackle complex challenges specific to the construction industry, focusing on deriving structured and accurate data from construction plans, blueprints, and floor plans. This role demands advanced computer vision expertise, encompassing not just text extraction but also intricate geometric reasoning, such as measuring line lengths and understanding spatial relationships.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will enhance our ML infrastructure, develop and assess models, and collaborate closely with clients and construction consultants to identify key issues that need resolution. Working alongside fellow AI engineers and technical leads, you will establish architectural strategies and address the most demanding technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the technical strategy for AI and computer vision at Boon, collaborating with a skilled team of AI engineers.
- Design and refine ML infrastructure, data pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
- Create and implement computer vision models (CNNs, vision transformers) to extract nuanced information from construction documents.
- Evaluate the scalability of current solutions and devise innovative approaches when necessary.
- Engage with clients and construction industry experts to clarify requirements and prioritize technical goals.
- Collaborate with other AI engineers and technical leads to brainstorm solutions and resolve complex technical issues.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of ML systems, from prototyping to production deployment.
