Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, paired with a strong customer service orientation. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced atmosphere. Strong time management skills with a commitment to follow-through even in ambiguous situations. Proven problem-solving abilities to identify and implement solutions proactively. A genuine enthusiasm for working in HR, with a strong interest in employee experience and engagement. Excellent teamwork and stakeholder management skills, capable of building trust and relationships across diverse teams and individuals.

About the Role

Join Orchard as an HR Generalist, where you will take charge of the daily operations of our New York City office while supporting HR initiatives across the organization. Your role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless office environment and nurturing a strong sense of community within our NYC team. Collaborating closely with the HR team, you will engage with various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee experience, and HRIS management. We are seeking a proactive candidate eager to explore diverse HR disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in NYC, reporting directly to the Manager, People Operations.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Serve as the primary contact in the New York Office, overseeing operations to ensure an exceptional experience for employees, guests, candidates, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, building management, and other key stakeholders to maintain efficient office operations.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences for new hires and manage offboarding processes, ensuring every employee's journey begins and ends positively.
  • Partner with the People team on projects and daily tasks related to the employee lifecycle, including promotions, transfers, employment verifications, and maintaining data in HRIS and other systems.
  • Assist managers and HR team members in addressing employee inquiries, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring HR workflows are efficient.
  • Plan and execute engaging employee events and programs to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
