Role Overview: Head of People
The Head of People will shape and grow a high-performing, people-focused studio in London. This person guides company culture, leadership, and team development as Studio XAG evolves. The role reports to the Managing Director and sits on the Horizon leadership team, translating business goals into a clear People plan. Both strategic and hands-on, the Head of People works closely with leaders to support critical initiatives and ensure the People function supports Studio XAG’s ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
People Strategy & Culture
- Create and implement a People strategy that supports business objectives.
- Nurture a culture that balances creativity, performance, and care as the studio grows.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational and people matters.
Leadership & Team Development
- Strengthen leadership skills across the organization.
- Coach senior leaders to improve team effectiveness, performance, and decision-making.
- Support development and progression of future leaders within teams.
Learning & Development
- Lead a focused Learning & Development strategy for all levels.
- Integrate practical development initiatives for leadership, craft, and team capabilities.
- Align learning programs with business needs and future growth plans.
Performance, Clarity & Accountability
- Oversee and improve performance frameworks.
- Ensure clear roles, expectations, and accountability throughout teams.
- Facilitate regular, meaningful performance conversations focused on outcomes.
Organizational Design & Talent Planning
- Manage and adapt the studio’s organizational structure.
- Establish clear team structures, succession plans, and leadership depth.
- Monitor key talent, identify emerging leaders, and assess potential risks.
- Conduct regular reviews to guide hiring and development decisions.
Talent & Hiring
- Oversee hiring strategy and standards across the organization.
- Define roles clearly and maintain high-quality, consistent hiring practices.
- Partner with leaders to build effective, balanced teams.
