Requirements:A recent graduate (or equivalent) with a portfolio showcasing real-time visual effects that demonstrate strong timing, clarity, and creativity. Proficiency in tools like Blender, Photoshop, Substance, and After Effects (or equivalent software). A solid understanding of particle system fundamentals, including sprite and flipbook creation, as well as texture workflows for games. Curiosity and confidence in exploring tools such as Houdini and Embergen (or similar) for developing flipbook simulations. A grasp of 2D particle texture creation techniques and their application in real-time effects. The ability to translate concept art and reference material into engaging and believable in-game effects. Additional experience from game jams, mods, internships, or professional projects, along with knowledge of source control systems, will be considered a valuable asset.

We are seeking a motivated Graduate VFX Artist eager to kickstart their career in game development. You will join a passionate and expanding VFX team to contribute to an exciting large-scale project, guided by an experienced group renowned for crafting outstanding shooters.

The VFX team is responsible for all visual effects in Rebellion's games, including particle effects, screen post effects, material effects, mesh destruction effects, and UI effects, all developed using our proprietary engine, Asura.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of real-time visual effects by interpreting clear briefs and drawing inspiration from references.
  • Prepare source assets, textures, flipbooks, and meshes for use in particle systems.
  • Animate effects in-engine, testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance during gameplay.
  • Enhance your understanding of studio pipelines, performance budgets, and profiling fundamentals.
  • Participate in regular reviews, accept feedback for personal development, and maintain organized project files.
