Join Trueline as a General Ledger Manager in the vibrant city of New York! We are on the lookout for an experienced accounting professional to lead our general ledger team in a hybrid work environment (3 days onsite). This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive leader who excels at merging traditional finance practices with innovative technologies, including AI and process automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the general ledger team, managing essential accounting functions such as journal entries, payroll processing, reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring strict adherence to accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Prepare for and coordinate external audits, including the drafting of financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments including Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll, Tax, and IT to align general ledger processes with overarching organizational goals.
- Champion modernization initiatives, including system upgrades, automation tools, AI integration, and the development of real-time reporting dashboards.
- Act as the primary stakeholder for improvements in GL systems and cross-functional workflows.
- Mentor and guide a growing team, supervising one direct report and two junior members.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Accounting experience within a law firm setting.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience working in professional services, law firms, or similar environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Capable of managing tight deadlines in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification.
- Familiarity with AI or RPA tools and their implementation.
- Experience with Power BI or other financial analytics platforms.
