POSITION SUMMARY
As the Director of Sales and Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in steering strategic growth initiatives by crafting and implementing effective contracting strategies with NFI’s Public Sector clientele. You will spearhead innovative business development efforts and devise competitive market strategies. This position necessitates forging strong alliances across sales, technical, operational, and marketing teams, ensuring that resources and processes are harmonized to formulate compelling value propositions for industry procurements. Utilizing extensive industry knowledge, you will lead teams focused on technical sales, bid development, and strategic market analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide the Technical Sales team in acquiring new business by aligning customer needs with final bid specifications and enhancing cross-functional product and technical knowledge.
- Establish and nurture robust bid processes to enhance accuracy, expedite responses, and improve the probability of securing wins.
- Create and implement comprehensive training and development programs for technical sales and business development personnel.
- Oversee the generation of precise pipeline analytics, bid reporting, solicitation tracking, and option-conversion forecasting to pinpoint opportunities for optimizing production slots and supporting budgetary goals.
- Anticipate market sales and profitability trends, providing strategic insights that inform long-term planning and resource allocation.
- Lead competitive research and market landscape analysis to guide product direction, pricing strategies, and program development.
- Monitor contract profitability, evaluate risks, and assess performance against customer expectations; proactively address customer concerns and aid in the enhancement of backlog health.
- Support regional sales teams and other functional units in developing and executing customer-centric sales strategies.
- Drive the creation of high-quality sales materials, toolkits, presentations, FAQs, and training resources.
- Lead the design and execution of value-added programs that enhance New Flyer’s competitive positioning and expand market share.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, Engineering, Supply Chain, NFI Parts, and other business units to align business development strategies with organizational objectives.
- Participate in New Product Development council initiatives and Change Control Board meetings to facilitate continuous improvement.
