Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or IT security. Deep understanding of networking, operating systems, and foundational security principles. Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners. Familiarity with common attack vectors and effective mitigation techniques. Knowledge of established security frameworks and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Preferred QualificationsIndustry-recognized certifications, such as:CompTIA Security+CISSPCEHCISM or GIAC certificationsExperience in cloud security environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.). Background in incident response and digital forensics.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Louisville, Colorado. Infleqtion also has offices in Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU.

Role overview

The Cybersecurity Analyst Engineer Specialist will join Infleqtion’s cybersecurity team to protect systems, networks, and data from a wide range of cyber threats. This position requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to staying current with emerging security risks.

Main responsibilities

  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats and incidents on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
  • Manage and fine-tune security tools, including SIEM, MXDR, firewalls, and IDS/IPS
  • Review security logs and alerts to identify and address suspicious activity
  • Support incident response, investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Lead security awareness training for staff
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate penetration testing and tabletop exercises, and conduct regular security reviews
  • Ensure compliance with frameworks and regulations such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2
  • Work closely with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to strengthen security across the organization
