The Commis Chef 1 plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by supporting daily culinary activities and upholding the highest service standards to meet guest expectations.
This position involves assisting in the preparation and production of food under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef. The Commis Chef 1 will be instrumental in maintaining quality, hygiene, and safety standards within the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations effectively.
- Maintain open communication with the culinary team, ensuring all internal communications are clear and effective.
- Prepare food items as directed by supervisors, adhering to the established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety regulations, and licensing standards at all times.
- Actively seek ways to minimize energy consumption and waste.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef promptly.
- Participate in maintaining the quality of food presentation and production.
- Safely handle kitchen equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding kitchen operations.
- Foster positive working relationships with all staff and departments.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors.
