mecka.ai is hiring a Chief Security Officer based in New York. This executive position carries broad responsibility for shaping, implementing, and actively managing security systems and protocols throughout the organization. The CSO will work directly with the leadership team, taking ownership of security strategy, risk management, and the protection of company assets, including devices, infrastructure, data, and user access.
This role calls for a practical, hands-on leader who can both set policy and handle day-to-day security operations. The right person will design scalable solutions that keep pace with company growth and adapt as new challenges arise.
What You Will Do
Security Strategy and Risk Management
- Guide the development and ongoing improvement of mecka.ai’s security posture and risk management framework.
- Identify vulnerabilities across all systems and address risks proactively.
- Set and enforce security standards and best practices across the company.
Device and Endpoint Security
- Direct the deployment and management of Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems for laptops and access controls.
- Apply device hardening, access policies, and security configurations.
- Oversee secure onboarding and offboarding of employee devices.
Infrastructure and Application Security
- Safeguard infrastructure, including:
- Cloud computing environments
- Internal systems
- Development workflows
- Implement best practices for:
- Secrets management
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Security in CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure secure architecture and design.
Identity and Access Management
- Manage Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and access control systems.
- Define and enforce role-based access policies.
- Oversee secure processes for onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.
Data Security and Protection
- Develop and maintain measures for data security and compliance protocols.
