The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) plays a pivotal role in nurturing future Bakery Operations Managers. In this leadership pipeline position, ABOMs are tasked with executing bakery operations with precision, accountability, and a sense of urgency, while honing the skills necessary to independently oversee a bakery.

This position harmonizes hands-on operational excellence with talent cultivation, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. ABOMs serve as a key extension of the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM) and must be prepared to take full ownership of bakery operations when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution
• Oversee all essential bakery operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and administrative tasks.
• Uphold rigorous standards for product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Assist with inventory accuracy and loss prevention strategies.
• Collaborate on labor scheduling to achieve operational goals.

Talent & Team Development
• Aid in the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Provide ongoing coaching and immediate performance feedback.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure that onboarding and training processes align with company expectations.

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the BOM's absence.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with BOM and area leadership to identify challenges and implement solutions.
• Ensure smooth operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
• Ability to effectively execute all BOM-level administrative and operational functions.
• Bakery operates with a fully trained and competent staff, maintaining high standards.
• Strong culture of accountability and consistency is established.
• Acts as a dependable operational leader during coverage scenarios.
• Demonstrates readiness and potential for advancement to a BOM role.
