Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering. Minimum Experience: A minimum of three (3) years in a related role such as Aerospace Engineer, Design Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer, with hands-on experience in the design, analysis, and production of composite aerostructures and lightweight structures, including experience with large bonded structures, sandwich construction, and prepreg carbon fiber fabrication. Alternate Requirement: A Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least one (1) year of applicable experience may also be considered.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to the design and development of major structural airframe assemblies from initial design through the certification process and into manufacturing.
  • Utilize a deep understanding of load paths, design best practices, and hand calculations to create durable structural designs.
  • Implement design for manufacturing principles to ensure cost-effective and easily fabricable designs.
  • Engage in composite sandwich construction and adhesive bonding techniques.
  • Assist in establishing company standards for CAD models and technical drawings of composite and metallic parts.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams focused on design, stress analysis, and materials and processes.
  • Provide technical insights on design considerations, weighing risk against cost and performance.
  • Support manufacturing teams in validating that designs meet specified requirements.
