B Capital Group is searching for an experienced and dynamic Vice President/Director to enhance our Capital Formation team, directly reporting to the Managing Director of Capital Formation. This pivotal role focuses on fundraising and involves developing robust relationships with strategic investors to secure capital across various funds and co-investments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong history of capital raising for private funds or private companies and demonstrate the ability to translate innovative ideas into actionable strategies within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, drive, and finalize new Limited Partner (LP) commitments from institutional investors, family offices, wealth management firms, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Oversee the complete fundraising cycle, which includes mapping potential prospects, nurturing relationships, leading outreach efforts, and managing due diligence through to closure.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director of Capital Formation, the Investor Relations team, and investment leadership to enhance fund positioning and customize messaging for varied LP segments.
- Develop and personalize fundraising materials, including presentations, data room content, due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and track-record and portfolio analyses to support capital-raising initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a high-quality pipeline and CRM processes, tracking interactions, feedback, and probability-weighted opportunities.
- Utilize and expand relationships with gatekeepers and intermediaries such as consultants, private banks, placement agents, and other capital partners to broaden the firm’s outreach.
- Represent B Capital at LP meetings, conferences, and industry events, acting as a credible and engaging front-line fundraiser for the organization.
Basic Job Requirements:
- 6-10 years of robust capital-raising experience in venture capital, private equity, private credit, or related alternative investments, ideally in one or more of the following areas:
- Fundraising/capital formation at a private equity/venture capital or alternative investment manager.
- Fundraising experience at a placement agent firm.
- Private company fundraising or private capital advisory at an investment bank or a leading private technology company.
- Demonstrated success in raising capital from endowments, foundations, pension funds, funds of funds, wealth managers, and/or family offices.
- A BS/BA degree is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple fundraising processes simultaneously.
