Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of relevant electrical or mechanical experience in utility, industrial, or production settings. Note: Partial years (6 months or more) may count towards this requirement; a master's degree counts as one year of experience. At least 18 months of experience in a System Operator role or equivalent responsibilities. Proficient knowledge in NERC regulations, electrical principles, and electrical control systems. Strong mathematical skills and a solid understanding of power system operations.

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Location: Richmond, VA

Work Environment: Onsite with Rotating Shift Schedule

Applicants must possess authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

This pivotal role requires the ability to make real-time decisions to ensure the reliability of the Bulk Electric System under both normal and emergency conditions. Acting under the authority of PJM, the Reliability Coordinator, Transmission Operator, and Balancing Authority, you will perform critical reliability-related tasks independently.

Key responsibilities include maintaining PJM Transmission Operator and NERC Transmission Operator/Reliability Coordinator certifications, monitoring the bulk electric system, and responding to various disturbances or emergencies. You will also manage voltage and reactive power flows to adhere to voltage schedules and prepare switching orders to ensure safety for field personnel and equipment.

Utilizing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, you will control transmission and distribution equipment, log activities for operational accuracy, and communicate effectively with field personnel.
