Essential Qualifications:Proven experience in a legal sector role, whether through work, internship, or postgraduate positions. Strong understanding of legal administration, document drafting, compliance, and regulatory frameworks. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines. A genuine passion for pursuing a career in the legal sector as a lawyer. Preferred Qualifications:A background in legal or compliance roles within a law firm or legal services provider. Familiarity with KYC tools and screening platforms (e.g., WorldCheck, Refinitiv, RDC, or similar). Knowledge of fund structures and offshore jurisdictions (e.g., Cayman Islands, Luxembourg). Experience as a paralegal.

About the job

As a Transactional KYC Analyst at avantialaw, you will play a critical role in our compliance team, focusing on the meticulous execution of Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews and due diligence processes for both new and existing clients. Your expertise will be especially valuable in navigating the complexities of asset management entities. You will facilitate the firm's client onboarding processes while ensuring that all client relationships and transactions adhere to the stringent requirements of AML/CTF regulations, as well as internal policies and jurisdictional obligations.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with private equity deal teams to gain insights into transaction structures.
  • Conducting thorough risk analyses concerning money laundering, bribery and corruption, financial crime, and reputational risk associated with transaction counterparties.
  • Engaging with deal teams, legal, compliance, and relevant counterparties to gather essential materials.
  • Reviewing the ownership and control structures of counterparties, which may encompass fund structures, SPVs, partnerships, trusts, and other intricate entities prevalent in asset management.
  • Partnering with clients' Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that all deals meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.
