Role of the Volunteer Advisor
Are you enthusiastic about vocational training, employability, and sustainable development? Do you wish to leverage your skills for the socio-economic integration of youth and vulnerable populations in a high-impact context? This opportunity is tailored for you.
Since April 1, 2020, Cuso International has been implementing an ambitious international cooperation project in Cameroon, aimed at promoting gender equality, empowering women and young girls, and positioning volunteering as a key driver of sustainable development. In this framework, Cuso collaborates with MINEFOP (Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training), the national institution responsible for employment policy, vocational training, and worker integration into the job market.
As a Volunteer Advisor in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), you will support MINEFOP in enhancing its capabilities to develop sustainable socio-economic integration opportunities, particularly in the agri-business, agriculture-livestock, and information and communication technology (ICT) sectors. Working closely with technical and institutional stakeholders, you will contribute to the implementation of pilot trainings, the capitalization of results, and the sharing of learnings, thus enhancing the quality and relevance of vocational training pathways in Cameroon.
The volunteer advisor will be responsible for the following activities:
- Analyze and identify training needs in one or two priority sectors (e.g., agri-business/agri-livestock or ICT)
- Design and adapt short, practical TVET training modules
- Support the implementation and monitoring of pilot trainings
- Capitalization and continuous improvement of the TVET system
