Qualifications

Provide expert judgment on the feasibility of supply chain risk mitigations, considering technical manufacturing capabilities, industrial base capacity, and necessary Army authority. Collaborate closely with AI solution engineers and development teams to shape the design and validation of automated or semi-automated mitigation workflows. Evaluate and propose strategies to address both man-made risks (such as adversarial dependencies, cyber vulnerabilities, sanctions exposure, or foreign ownership/control) and non-man-made risks (including natural disasters, obsolescence, industrial fragility, or production bottlenecks).

Position Overview:

The Technical Advisor for Supply Chain Risk & Mitigation plays a pivotal role in offering expert analytical and engineering guidance focused on identifying and validating strategies to mitigate risks within defense sustainment supply chains. This position operates at the convergence of industrial base analysis, manufacturing science, and Army acquisition policy, ensuring that proposed mitigation strategies are not only technically feasible but also realistic within the industrial landscape and executable under Army regulations.

As a key advisor to Forward Deployed Engineers and software engineering teams, you will support the development of automated supply chain risk management capabilities. Additionally, you will be instrumental in advising and mentoring clients on effective mitigation strategies, leveraging your extensive technical knowledge in manufacturing processes and defense industrial operations to ensure that recommendations are rooted in practical production realities and aligned with Army sustainment and acquisition frameworks.
