Educational/Experience Requirements:Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of employment at Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) or equivalent surgical technology experience. Required Licenses/Certifications:Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The Surgical Technologist - Regional Supplemental Staffing III at Luminis Health supports direct patient care across multiple surgical specialties. This role is based in Annapolis, MD and Lanham, MD. The technologist upholds core patient care principles, maintains surgical asepsis, and prepares for surgical cases according to established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a safe, sterile environment for patients and the operating room team by following protocols and using equipment according to the operating room manual.
  2. Assist with safe patient transport and movement of specialized equipment, following all safety guidelines.
  3. Provide patient care during surgery, using physician preference cards and organizing care tasks to meet patient and environmental needs.
  4. Serve as the first scrub for a range of surgical cases, such as general/GYN, ENT, plastics, basic or minor ortho/neuro, dental/ortho, urology/cysto, and basic vascular procedures. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments appropriately.
  5. Independently perform essential surgical technologist tasks: open surgical supplies, assist with gowning and gloving the team, perform basic patient positioning, and complete terminal cleaning of the operating room and surgical suite.
