Required Qualifications:Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Environmental Health, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field. Completion of at least one course in human health risk assessment. Ability to effectively review and interpret scientific literature. Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Physical and Mental Job Qualifications:Must be able to work in person in our Redmond, WA office.

Join our dynamic Health Sciences Practice at J. S. Held, where we provide unparalleled scientific expertise across various industries in areas such as toxicology, exposure assessment, human health risk assessment, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance. As a Toxicology Intern for Summer 2026, you will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside seasoned toxicologists and scientific consultants. Your responsibilities will include supporting research efforts, conducting analyses, and contributing to client deliverables. This internship will immerse you in the evaluation of chemical hazards, interpretation of toxicological data, and preparation of scientific summaries, as well as regulatory and risk assessment projects. You will engage in research on potential airborne mycotoxin exposures and associated human health risks, culminating in the preparation of a paper for publication. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of real-world assignments while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of experts.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the review of toxicological, pharmacological, and environmental health literature.
  • Support evaluations of chemical, biological, or environmental hazards.
  • Help prepare toxicology summaries, technical reports, and scientific briefing materials.
  • Contribute to human health risk assessments under supervision.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze scientific, regulatory, or published datasets.
  • Assist with project coordination, documentation, and internal communication.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on chemical safety, exposure pathways, and regulatory frameworks.
