Summer 2026 Toxicology Internship

As a Toxicology Intern for Summer 2026, you will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside seasoned toxicologists and scientific consultants. Your responsibilities will include supporting research efforts, conducting analyses, and contributing to client deliverables. This internship will immerse you in the evaluation of chemical hazards, interpretation of toxicological data, and preparation of scientific summaries, as well as regulatory and risk assessment projects. You will engage in research on potential airborne mycotoxin exposures and associated human health risks, culminating in the preparation of a paper for publication. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of real-world assignments while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of experts.Internship Responsibilities:Assist in the review of toxicological, pharmacological, and environmental health literature.Support evaluations of chemical, biological, or environmental hazards.Help prepare toxicology summaries, technical reports, and scientific briefing materials.Contribute to human health risk assessments under supervision.Collect, organize, and analyze scientific, regulatory, or published datasets.Assist with project coordination, documentation, and internal communication.Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on chemical safety, exposure pathways, and regulatory frameworks.

Leadership & Team ManagementGuide, mentor, and lead a talented team of toxicologists across diverse projects and regions.Ensure rigorous quality assurance and uphold scientific integrity in all outputs.Encourage a collaborative and high-performance team culture.Technical ExpertiseDeliver expert toxicological analysis and consultation on issues related to human health risk, chemical exposure, product safety, and regulatory compliance.Analyze and interpret toxicological data, exposure assessments, and risk evaluations.Act as a subject matter expert in litigation support, regulatory submissions, and client advisory services.Business DevelopmentIdentify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and toxicology sectors.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.Create competitive proposals, scopes of work, and pricing strategies for toxicological services.Represent J.S. Held at industry conferences, webinars, and networking events.Strategic InitiativesContribute to the development and introduction of new service offerings in the US and international markets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate toxicology services into comprehensive consulting solutions.Support marketing and thought leadership initiatives through publications and presentations.

You will gain hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working closely with our credentialed emergency veterinary technicians.
