REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics, with an emphasis on heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Extensive knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and operation in high-temperature environments. Proficient in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA). Hands-on experience with thermal testing and analysis of flight vehicles. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Role overview

This Staff Thermal Engineer position focuses on unmanned hypersonic air vehicles. The role covers all stages of development, from initial concept through detailed design and testing. Work involves defining thermal system architectures, selecting materials, and ensuring vehicles perform under extreme flight conditions.

What you will do

  • Lead thermal design and analysis for unmanned air vehicles, from concept through detailed design.
  • Define system architectures and select materials for vehicles operating in extreme environments.
  • Apply CFD, FEA, and related engineering tools to analyze thermal performance.
  • Model material behavior under combined thermal and mechanical loads.
  • Perform transient thermal analysis for complex mission profiles.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze ground tests in specialized thermal facilities.
  • Oversee planning and execution of flight tests, including post-flight thermal data analysis.
  • Use first principles and develop MATLAB or Python models to support design decisions.
  • Collaborate with teams in aerodynamics, structures, electrical, and systems engineering to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Present thermal analysis and project status during formal reviews with internal teams and clients.
  • Write and update technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and reports.
