Role Overview: Staff Systems Engineer

This Denver-based role focuses on the full lifecycle of the ATARS product. The Staff Systems Engineer will shape requirements, define system architecture, manage interfaces, and drive integration and verification efforts. • Develop and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for internal and external system integrations, including hardware, software, avionics, and platform interfaces.
  • Lead and facilitate design milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, SVR).
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, such as SysML, to design system architectures, functional breakdowns, use cases, and interface models.
  • Conduct trade studies and technical analyses to support design choices and improve system performance.
  • Oversee allocation of weight, power, and other system resources among components.
  • Coordinate and supervise system integration and verification in both lab and aircraft settings.
  • Identify technical risks and manage mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a technical liaison with internal teams and external partners to align on system design and performance requirements.
