The Role:
We seek a dedicated Staff Scientist – Quantum Applications to spearhead the technical advancements in leveraging IonQ’s quantum computers to develop unique quantum solutions that deliver societal value. As a key member of a cross-functional team, you will guide IonQ on a multi-generational mission to address the world's most formidable challenges using our state-of-the-art quantum computers.
In your capacity as a technical leader in quantum algorithms, you will play a pivotal role in unveiling the next wave of quantum applications, poised to surpass the capabilities of conventional classical methods. Your contributions will include developing core intellectual property, computational resource models, long-term strategies, and comprehensive workflows that could revolutionize computing. Collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and external partners will be essential as you propose innovative, complex initiatives and represent IonQ at high-profile technical conferences.
