What We’re Looking For10+ years of experience in cloud solution architecture, partner engineering, or technical program management, with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and architecture patterns. Demonstrated experience in managing strategic technical partnerships at the VP/C-level, adept at navigating complex multi-company engineering initiatives and achieving consensus across organizations. Hands-on technical expertise with the ability to prototype integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and assess the technical feasibility of proposed solutions. Proficiency in Python, SQL, infrastructure-as-code, and API integration patterns is essential. Proven capability to manage high-stakes partner relationships where strategic interests vary, including defining boundaries and expectations while nurturing long-term partnership health. Thorough understanding of the Databricks platform and its functionalities.

About the job

Databricks is hiring a Staff Partner Engineer focused on Azure. This position plays a central role in driving technical collaboration between Databricks Product and Engineering teams and Microsoft Azure. The Staff Partner Engineer serves as the primary technical contact, managing the joint product roadmap, supporting engineering integrations, and ensuring Databricks products operate smoothly within Azure.

This role works closely with Azure Partner Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and engineers to align priorities, identify integration needs, and accelerate feature delivery. The position reports to the Director of Partner Engineering and partners with Databricks Product Management, Engineering, and Field teams.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the technical roadmap for integrating Databricks and Azure products, serving as the main interface between Databricks Product Management and Azure partner teams to align features and co-innovation goals.
  • Track and resolve cross-company dependencies and blockers, manage milestone timelines with Azure teams, and coordinate regular meetings and escalation processes to keep projects on track.
  • Oversee engineering integration projects between Databricks and Azure product teams, guiding initiatives from initial scoping through delivery.
  • Create and maintain technical architecture documentation, including integration patterns, detailed architecture diagrams, and reference implementations for combined Azure and Databricks solutions.
  • Offer technical guidance to field teams on Azure-Databricks integration, working with Solution Architects and Customer Success to support Azure customer wins.
