About the job
About ridealso
ridealso is a pioneering electric mobility enterprise that originated from Rivian. Our dedicated team comprises builders, visionaries, and innovators committed to designing groundbreaking, vertically integrated small electric vehicles (EVs) aimed at addressing the pressing global mobility challenges of today and the future. Our mission is to inspire individuals to choose ridealso, thereby replacing numerous local vehicle miles with more economical, enjoyable, and significantly more efficient transportation options.
As a Field Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in monitoring and enhancing the reliability of our electric mobility vehicles deployed in the field, thereby optimizing the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze field performance data to identify failure trends across various vehicle models. Conduct life data analysis (Weibull) to pinpoint risk areas and implement design or process modifications for enhancements. Monitor reliability growth stemming from these changes.
Assess actual customer usage against anticipated rider profiles and duty cycles to uncover gaps in the reliability testing framework. Create innovative damage metrics to effectively model failure mechanisms.
Collaborate with the Service team to establish a unified service platform and database across various channel partners, facilitating the tracking of customer complaints and part replacements. This role will help define the necessary documentation processes.
Formulate a Material Review Board (MRB) process for the disposition of components (including rework/reman, scrap, and return for analysis) and conduct thorough failure analysis of returned parts to determine and enact corrective actions.
Design and implement an ongoing reliability testing (ORT) plan.
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience in a reliability engineering role.
Proficient technical knowledge in areas related to reliability, including PCBA and electronic components, battery and power electronics, drive units, and chassis systems.
Strong understanding of reliability statistics, life data analysis, and reliability growth methodologies.
Experience in structured problem-solving approaches like FRACA or 8D, and utilizing root cause analysis (RCA) tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree, and FMEA.
