Role Overview:

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday
  • Working hours: 8:30 A. M. to 3:30 P. M.
  • This is a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session
  • Your responsibilities will include assisting the lead teacher in daily activities within an elementary special education classroom.
  • You will help implement individual lesson plans tailored to each student, ensuring alignment with NYS Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core Standards or NYS Common Core Standards, based on authentic assessment data that supports school readiness goals and IEP objectives.
  • Utilize effective teaching techniques, including prompting, pacing, and reinforcement strategies, while being aware of potential behavioral challenges.
