Team overview

The Cloud Automation team sits within the Build & Tools group and is responsible for the core cloud infrastructure, security systems, and developer tools that support all engineering teams at Torc. The team manages a multi-account AWS Organization, shared networking, identity and access management, hosted application platforms, CI/CD infrastructure, and works to optimize costs for long-term sustainability.

This distributed group collaborates daily through standups, planning meetings, and quick problem-solving over Slack and Zoom. The team values sustainable work, shared ownership, and a commitment to supporting developers across the company.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with teams across Torc to design and implement reliable cloud solutions.
  • Improve and maintain existing cloud infrastructure with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support and maintain cloud services.
  • Promote best practices for cloud security and automation.

Location

This Software Engineer II - Cloud Automation role can be based in Ann Arbor, MI or fully remote within the United States.
