About the Role
As a Software Engineer II, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager of Mobile Video Players. Your role will involve contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of our Apple video player library. You will take charge of key features and optimizations to ensure code quality and performance. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Program Management, Product, and QA teams is essential as we shape our technology roadmap and meet our objectives. Join our international team of over 100 client engineers, ensuring Crunchyroll remains the premier anime streaming service.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions for mobile video player development.
- Collaborate in defining and developing technical enhancements to existing features, focusing on performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and improvement areas in the codebase, working with senior engineers to propose and implement solutions.
- Maintain high coding standards and adhere to best practices in Swift development, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
- Engage in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality product delivery and alignment with architectural strategies.
- Promote operational excellence through efficient and maintainable engineering practices in your daily tasks.
- Stay informed on industry trends and mobile development technologies by researching new tools and frameworks to keep our video player competitive.
