Flatiron is seeking a Software Engineer (Contractor) for its New York office. This role focuses on designing and implementing technology solutions that support clinical practice and research. The position involves working closely with colleagues from different specialties to address real challenges in oncology.

What You Will Do

  • Work alongside engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to fully understand problems before proposing solutions, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
  • Clarify ambiguous requirements and turn them into actionable tasks, while identifying potential risks early.
  • Build, test, and deploy features from start to finish. Write code that is both clean and maintainable for current and future needs.
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs by tracing issues to their source, designing targeted solutions, and validating fixes with automated tests.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, offering and receiving feedback to help the team improve.
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools and modern technologies to speed up development, while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, and code quality.

This contract position is based in Flatiron Health’s New York office.
