Position Overview
Join our Comprehensive Risk Assessment team as a Senior Technical Specialist, where you will lead pioneering research in AI safety and governance. This role requires a deep understanding of AI risk pathways and a dedication to quality assurance. You will contribute to developing industry standards and policy frameworks, acting as a subject matter expert that bridges technical AI safety with governance. Your efforts will enhance the quality of our research and advance methodologies for managing risks associated with advanced AI systems, all within our strategic research program. This position is fully remote, but occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement innovative techniques for identifying threat models and conducting risk pathway analyses that encompass social and sociotechnical dimensions.
• Analyze multi-node risk transformations, amplification, and threshold effects within social systems.
• Collaborate on creating robust technical governance frameworks and methodologies for assessing catastrophic risks, including loss-of-control scenarios.
• Ensure strategic quality control across the team's research, guaranteeing both conceptual soundness and technical precision.
• Lead original research initiatives focusing on comprehensive risk management for advanced AI systems, aligning with team objectives.
