Role Overview
We are on the lookout for a Senior Staff Backend Engineer with extensive knowledge of the dynamics of large-scale microservices and practical expertise with Service Mesh. You will play a crucial role in designing the architecture and guiding the team to deliver a cutting-edge platform that supports all of Coupang’s services.
The Gateway Services team is responsible for constructing Coupang’s infrastructure layer through a distributed microservices architecture, facilitating seamless inter-service communication. Key components of this infrastructure include service discovery, load balancing, traffic resiliency, traffic management, failure recovery, and observability paradigms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing enterprise-wide fine-grained traffic control.
- Utilizing a centralized management plane for managing policies and observability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
