About This Position
We are seeking a Senior Server Engineer to become a vital part of our Identity Engineering Team. This team is responsible for ensuring a secure and seamless experience for every athlete accessing Strava. Our identity systems go beyond mere authentication; they create a foundation of trust, security, and continuity across all our applications and platforms.
This role follows a flexible hybrid model, requiring you to work on-site in our San Francisco office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop core capabilities for the Identity platform, focusing on authentication, authorization, token lifecycle management, session continuity, and account security.
Design and implement scalable and reliable server-side services to support account creation, login processes, account recovery, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and cross-application identity management.
Enhance and innovate modern identity protocols by integrating standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), WebAuthn, biometrics, and secure token exchange.
Refine identity flows across our iOS, Android, and web platforms to ensure a frictionless user experience without compromising security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Security, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Mobile/Web Engineering, to create identity solutions that prioritize safety and privacy while supporting growth.
Promote technical excellence by contributing architectural insights and shaping long-term Identity strategies.
Mentor and support fellow engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Influence system design across teams, leveraging your expertise in identity to lead discussions on security, performance, and scalability.
