Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory analysis, market research, or policy advisory within the energy, carbon, or renewable fuels sectors. Demonstrated success in interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks to commercial strategies. In-depth understanding of US federal and state-level energy and environmental regulations, including RFS, LCFS, IRA, and carbon markets. Experience with market modeling, scenario analysis, and regulatory forecasting. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and regulatory tracking platforms. Ability to develop innovative commercial ideas based on regulatory trends and market dynamics. Strong problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex regulatory developments into actionable insights. Experience in presenting findings to senior management.

About the job

  • Conduct comprehensive tracking, analysis, and interpretation of laws, regulations, and policies impacting Statkraft US, with a strong emphasis on US Renewable Energy, Carbon, and Renewable Fuels.
  • Continuously monitor regulatory changes and inform management and the broader organization of potential implications.
  • Execute market and regulatory research to propose innovative products and trading strategies to the trading team and the organization.
  • Contribute to the formulation of inputs, methodologies, and analyses for fundamental modeling efforts.
  • Generate creative solutions to market-related challenges through innovative commercial ideas.
  • Collaborate with relevant state, federal, and industry organizations.
  • Develop and maintain regulatory tracking tools to automate policy notifications.
  • Produce regulatory assessment reports to identify and analyze areas of regulatory risk, market volatility, and emerging frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with consultants and third-party partners as needed.
  • Assist internal Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
