Proficiency in design tools, especially Figma, as well as familiarity with prototyping and user testing methodologies. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with customers.

The B2B customer support sector is experiencing a monumental transformation. With AI at the forefront, the way companies engage with clients is evolving, breaking down traditional silos and fostering a collaborative environment across various communication platforms such as Slack and Discord. The outdated approach of slow, manual, and fragmented support is no longer viable.

We are in search of a talented Senior Product Designer to join our dynamic team and shape the future of support tools.

Key Responsibilities

At Plain, design extends beyond simple aesthetics; it’s about envisioning what support tools can achieve. You will take ownership of projects from inception to execution – from engaging with customers to conceptualizing innovative solutions, all the way to refining animation easing on the frontend.

  • Contribute to all stages of feature development, from ideation and design to deployment, including creating landing pages to showcase new features.

  • Collaborate closely with team members and customers, utilizing sketches, prototypes, Figma designs, and GitHub pull requests. Your success will be measured by the impact of your designs post-launch rather than just what exists in Figma.

  • Play a pivotal role in setting team priorities and roadmap direction. You’ll serve as the team’s broad perspective, interpreting customer insights and personal experiences to craft a unified product vision.

  • Establish the design system that underpins Plain's user interface, ensuring consistency in iconography, color schemes, design tokens, and components.

  • Foster an open design culture where team members feel encouraged to share product and UI ideas freely.

This position is suitable for a senior-level or staff product designer.

Candidates should possess a strong background in product-driven companies, preferably in B2B SaaS, and have a passion for both UI intricacies and customer dialogue, motivated by the desire to create impactful solutions.
