Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with architects, engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design approach. Create and coordinate documentation utilizing Revit. Conduct mechanical and HVAC calculations, including code compliance research. Perform plumbing and fire protection calculations, ensuring adherence to relevant codes. Draft and review specifications. Evaluate shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals. Conduct site visits as necessary. Lead mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary teams. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on HVAC systems, central utility plants, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. Thorough understanding of the design and construction processes, with the ability to communicate effectively with professionals from other disciplines. Proficient in Autodesk Revit. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Position Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at DLR Group, you will spearhead the design of mechanical systems across various sectors, including Higher Education, Cultural & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12 Education, Civic Justice, and Energy. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers to produce comprehensive construction documents using Revit and manage project timelines to ensure deliverables are met efficiently. Your role will involve close collaboration with an integrated design team to create cohesive and innovative building designs.

You will guide the design process for mechanical building systems and prepare detailed engineering drawings and calculations. This position includes the oversight of Mechanical Designers and other team members.
