Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience, preferably within the energy storage, automotive, industrial equipment, or electro-mechanical systems sectors. Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent tools. Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork.

We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to elevate our R&D team in the development of Lithium-ion battery systems for industrial applications. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead mechanical design initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure our new battery products achieve the highest standards of performance, manufacturability, and quality.

Collaboration will be key as you work closely with electrical engineering, industrialization, quality assurance, and testing teams to deliver robust and innovative battery packs, modules, and mechanical sub-systems.

  • Lead the design process for parts, assemblies, and sub-systems utilizing 3D/2D CAD tools (including injection molded enclosures, sheet metal, and HPDC castings).
  • Define and validate system architecture and packaging concepts for battery packs.
  • Drive product feasibility, mechanical integration, and spatial optimization efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA guidelines.
  • Conduct engineering analyses encompassing stress, strain, structural integrity, and tolerance evaluations.
  • Validate design assumptions and employ data-driven decision-making.
  • Create and review technical documentation, drawings, and design releases.
  • Manage engineering change requests (ECP) and maintain accurate BOM structures (CAD & ERP/SAP).
  • Collaborate with Industrialization for a seamless transition to production.
  • Provide technical input to Quality, Testing, and Product Management teams.
  • Lead DFMEA sessions and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support prototype builds, testing campaigns, and root cause analyses.
  • Guide and mentor junior and mid-level mechanical engineers.
  • Review designs, documentation, and analyses produced by the team.
